Mudra is truly one of the most ancient and fascinating aspects of Yoga practice. Guruji BNS Iyengar explains: According to the Kashyapa Upanishad, there were originally 300 Mudras. Of these 300, 20 have survived to the present day. These are the 20 we will be learning.
Mudra means seal, or locking the Prana Vayu by effort in our bodies. This seal can only be locked by ourselves, and no other person or being other than ourselves can unlock it once established in the practice of Mudra.YOGA MUDRA IS A DISAPPEARING SYSTEM OF YOGIC KNOWLEDGE. It is very difficult to find teachers who teach this esoteric system of Yogic knowledge. This is a precious opportunity to learn this ancient and powerful system of Yoga directly from 99 year old Ashtanga legend, BNS Iyengar, an original student of Krishnamacharya.
In this module, we will meet on Zoom once a week, every Tuesday for 75 minutes. We will watch Guruji BNS lecture as he gives the complete philosophical & metaphorical explanation of 1-2 mudras per week, guiding us through the instructions on how to practice it, while his longtime student Joey Paz types demonstrates and types in the chat box to help interpret Guruji’s mystical teachings. After the lecture, we will practice and discuss each mudra together under Joey’s guidance, ensuring comprehension and awareness of the proper procedure.
These 20 Mudras that we will learn constitute a traditional lineage of Hatha Yoga Mudra coming down to us through the teachings of Krishnamacharya himself, transmitted by one of his last living direct disciples.
This is the deepest dive into the philosophy and practice of Mudra that you can find outside of traveling to Mysore India in person.

You will learn the complete and traditional system of Pranayama directly from the teachings of Guruji BNS Iyengar.
We will view a subtitled Pranayama lesson with Guruji BNS giving a complete philosophical explanation of the Pranayama, and guiding us through the instructions on how to practice it. Afterwards, his longtime student Joey Paz will summarize and demonstrate the correct procedure, and we will all practice the pranayama together to ensure understanding is reached.
This structure allows students to fully understand each pranayama lesson and practice it for a full week before moving to the next- gradually increasing capability, lung capacity, and peace of mind over the 16 weeks of the module, as well as preparing the nervous system for the profound experience of Kundalini awakening with the final pranayama, Shakti Chalana.
We will practice the pranayama together afterwards under Joey’s guidance. Joey has been working hard to subtitle each lesson from Guruji’s previous online lectures to make his teaching more easily understandable and accessible for all students. In addition to this, Joey will be available for guidance and one-on-one support throughout the entire course.
In addition, you will also receive a weekly PDF instruction guide with step by step instructions on how to conduct each Pranayama step by step. These 5 Pranayamas, consisting of 17 lessons, constitute a traditional lineage of Pranayama coming down to us through the teachings of Krishnamacharya himself, transmitted by one of his last living direct disciples.
You will not find a deeper dive into the principles of pranayama anywhere else, other than traveling to India and studying directly under Sri BNS Iyengar.
This is a unique opportunity to acquire a full and traditional system of pranayama from the comfort of home, anywhere in the world, exactly as it is taught by one of the world’s senior Yogis. -

Student testimonials from Joey’s previous Pranayama practice groups:
”Learn from Joey in the BNS Iyengar lineage and invigorate, reignite, or begin your practice. I’ve had asthma since I was 2, and the last 3 weeks of learning these subtle and advanced breathing techniques has already made a noticeable difference in my lung capacity and capability. I know that what I’m learning in this course will be with me for the rest of my life.”
-Sarah, Brooklyn, NY“Joey Paz has been offering initial training in the technique and practice of breath control (pranayama) as taught by Sri BNS Iyengar of Mysore, India. The lineage of these teachings spans thousands of years and is now accessible from your home with the guidance of an experienced yogi.
I highly recommend his class if you’re looking to deepen your meditation practice, or simply balance your nervous system’s response to stress. These practices are accessible to anyone. What I love about Joey’s instruction is how he clearly and simply he teaches these techniques. He infuses each of his teachings with spiritual allegory and offers precise diagrams for reference. Having a group to practice with weekly also keeps me consistent in my practice, so that I can advance with my friends on the path.”
