Join us for a brand new 30 hour online course on the most powerful of all mantras with revered Sanskrit scholar Dr. M.A. Jayashree!
The Aditya Hrdayam is considered as one of the most powerful of all mantras. Consisting of 30 slokas, it is a prayer to the Sun God, which promises strength, victory, illumination, and radiance to all who chant it. Given to Rama by the gods during the tale of the Ramayana, the Aditya Hrdayama mantra is the secret weapon which allows Rama to defeat Ravana, and restore balance to the world.
When we chant Aditya Hrdayam, we ware filled with the radiance that comes with the awareness of our own soul. There are few mantras as powerful and revered as this one. We are extremely fortunate that Jayashree will teach us this mantra, line by line, throughout the course of 30 weeks. We will learn how to chant each sloka one by one, as well as the philosophical meaning behind each one. We will focus on only 1 sloka per week so that we can go in depth to the philosophical meaning of each one before moving to the next one. In this way, we will finish with a powerful understanding of this great Mantra.
Throughout the 30 weeks of this course, students will gain an understanding of Sanskrit chanting as well as a philosophical understanding of the significance of the Sun in Yogic worldview and mythology.
COURSE SCHEDULE:
(Classes will be held every Monday at 5am USA Pacific time / 3pm Western Europe / 6:30pm India time) beginning November 17. Please note that the course will continue until we are finished with each sloka.
