Prana: The Life Force of the Universe- an Online Course with Yamini Muthanna

Prana: The Life Force of the Universe -
a 5-week online class series with Yamini Muthanna exploring the theory and practical aspects of PRANA and THE 5 VAYUS

This five-part class series offers a deep dive into the Prana Vayus, the five primary currents of vital energy described in yogic philosophy. Rather than treating prana as a vague or abstract force, the course presents the vayus as a living map of inner motion and consciousness, exploring how our lives are shaped by these pranic currents. Through classical Yogic texts and embodied movement practices, students are invited to gain a deeper understanding of this universal animating force that guides and directs not only our bodies, but our lives. Each class will feature both theory and practice, as Yamini guides us through Asana, Pranayama, and Mudra practices associated with the Prana Vayus

Each class focuses on one vayu, illuminating its qualities, functions, and metaphysical significance within the larger framework of classical yoga philosophy. Drawing insights from the Upanishads, Hatha Yoga texts, and contemporary interpretations, Yamini will guide the group in gaining a greater understanding of how the vayus relate to posture, breathwork, meditation, digestion, communication, and emotional regulation.

This course is designed for practitioners, teachers, and philosophy enthusiasts alike. By the end of the series, participants will have a clearer conceptual and experiential grasp of the Prana Vayus, enhancing both personal practice and the ability to articulate yoga’s subtle anatomy with confidence.
